Best Place to Swim Inside

Wilson Aquatic Center
If you need to submerge your body in water when the weather outside isn’t cooperating, you can do no better than the Wilson Aquatic Center. The jewel of Mayor Adrian M. Fenty’s infrastructural push opened last year on the campus of Woodrow Wilson High School. The facility includes two indoor pools—a leisure and wellness pool and a 25-yard-by-50-meter competition pool that has Olympic-sized lap lanes with designated speeds. The facility also has a whirlpool, a kid’s area with a kiddie wading pool, and a recreation room. Staff is ready and willing to assist. Depending on availability, the center can even provide a loaner lock to secure your stuff while you swim. The center is a block from the Tenleytown Metro, and admission is free for District residents.
