Best Prosecutor

Assistant U.S. Attorney Deborah Sines

There is a factory somewhere that spits out prosecuting attorneys. They come with hair that doesn’t move, navy suits, and sensible shoes. They work out on elliptical machines and live in Clarendon. Deborah Sines does wear sensible shoes, but only when she walks to the courthouse from the Metro, which she took from her home in Washington. And those walking shoes are black Converse All Star high tops. When she gets to court, Sines puts on spiky pumps that match her suits—more often black than navy. She gets ready for trials by listening to 50 Cent and lifting weights. By the end of her spirited deliveries before judge and jury, Sines’ mane of blonde hair looks more “bedhead” than the typical courtroom coif. Oh, and she has a rep for taking on the hardest cases, win or lose.
