Best Potential Contributor to Gentrification

This building at the corner of Florida Avenue and 4th Street NW is at the gates of the historic LeDroit Park neighborhood. It fronts Florida and 4th, and both streets come away winners. This building’s brick, its stone arches, its roofline, and all its vintage architectural flourishes make it a key to sprucing up this long-dreary stretch of Florida Avenue and aligning it with the majesty of the neighborhood immediately to its north. Despite its majesty, it’s now a bit of an eyesore, with boarded-up windows and a distressed look that is far from intentional. It’s on the market with an asking price of $1.5 million.
