Need a sander for a day? Or a circular saw for a week? ARTillery has you covered. At the end of the new Arts Walk at the new Monroe Street Market by the Brookland Metro is a new modular space that’s home to both art classes and a tool lending library. For a membership fee ($50 to $100) and some volunteer hours, anyone can borrow tools that are ordinarily hard to come by. Opened by banished? productions, the library is geared toward artists building sets and projects but open to the broader public. The catch: You’ll have to sign a waiver taking responsibility for any injury, so watch your thumbs.
