Best Used Bookstore

Friends of the Library Montgomery County
11701 Georgia Ave., Wheaton. Additional locations in Rockville and Gaithersburg.
When browsing a used bookstore, I’m looking for three things: recent bestsellers with mile-long library waiting lists, undiscovered titles or rare editions by favorite authors, and bizarre pieces of pop-culture ephemera. I also don’t want to spend more than four dollars. Under Wheaton Regional Library lies the holy grail: the Friends of the Library bookstore. Yes, it smells like a wet, musty basement, but the treasures you unearth make up for that fact. On recent visits, I’ve found a once-read copy of Gone Girl, a first edition of Brideshead Revisited, and a collection of sex poems by Suzanne Somers, all for under three bucks. I want for nothing more.
