Best Camera Store
Film photography is charmingly antiquated. There’s something romantic about loading the film into a camera, processing it by hand, and making prints in a darkroom using the necessary chemicals and equipment. But it’s a complicated science, and without adequate assistance, beginners can easily purchase the wrong supplies and waste time and money. A trip to Penn Camera on E Street NW is an excellent use of time for amateur and professional photographers alike. The staff is helpful, polite, and knowledgeable: On one visit with my beginning photography class, we handed our professor’s list of supplies to a salesperson and within 15 minutes we were out of the store, with everything we needed and at discounted student prices.
