Best Way to Chug

Porron at Estadio
1520 14th St. NW
Think of the porron as the socially acceptable adult version of the keg stand—but right-side up. For the uninitiated, a porron is a traditional Spanish wine pitcher shaped like a watering can, with a long spout that pours wine directly down your gullet. Instead of putting your mouth to the spout, the goal is to pull the porron as far from your lips as possible to create a long stream of liquid. Estadio offers several flavors, some of them seasonal, but you can’t go wrong with a Spanish sparkling white wine called Txakoli, lemon soda, and orange bitters. Drape a napkin under your chin at first; things can get messy.
