When it comes to food in D.C., you are what you tweet. It seems like every restaurant, food writer, and PR person in the city has a Twitter account. Throw in everyone else’s “what I had for lunch” revelations, and it’s a real deadly-sin smorgasbord out there. No wonder they call it a feed! Within that buffet of bite-sized commentary, Monica Bhide’s tweets stand out. Her self-deprecating humor, eagerness to help, and witty observations punctuate a feed that features feedback on other writers’ work as well as links to her own and notices about upcoming writing classes she’s teaching. She’s not all about self-promotion, but she doesn’t shy away from it, either. Perhaps most important of all, she comes across as a real person…and someone you’d want to chat with. All that in the digital equivalent of an amuse bouche.
