Best Irish Bar
2403 Wilson Blvd., Arlington; (703) 522-5296
The District is filled with Irish pubs, and pubs that want to be Irish, but few capture the spirit of the Emerald Isle like Kitty O’Shea’s in Arlington. Owner Danny McFadden modeled Kitty after the old Irish pubs he knew growing up in Falcarragh in northwest Ireland. The pub is a place for regulars, like any good Irish bar should be. On Friday nights, you won’t face long lines or a cover charge—really, what kind of Irish pub charges a cover?—or even obnoxious bros on the hunt. The corner booth you had last Friday will probably be available; the bartenders actually make conversation with you; and the A.C. Milan game will be on the telly, even if it starts at 7 a.m. Oh, and the best part? McFadden still hasn’t lost his Irish accent.
