Best Beer Trend
It’s a regular cask party in D.C. In the past year, six cask lines have been installed in the District, five at that temple of sudsology, ChurchKey near Logan Circle, and another one at that refurbished veteran on Dupont, Pizzeria Paradiso. Between those lines and the ones at Paradiso in Georgetown, Commonwealth GastroPub in Columbia Heights, the District Chophouse in Penn Quarter, and RFD in Chinatown, the District now boasts 11 cask lines firing hand-pulled pints of fresh, unpasteurized beer. Throw in some honorable mentions, places like the Reef and Galaxy Hut and the Brickskeller, all of which do occasional firkin tappings, and you have an encouraging trend on your hands. And good news keeps coming: This spring, Mad Fox Brewing Co. will start pumping another six casks in Falls Church.
