Best Improvement in the Rap Game

Two years ago, it was clear that Robert “Lyriciss” Bailey had potential, even if the major rap blogs weren’t backing him up. But just as suddenly, the New Carrollton native flourished, becoming a regular placement on go-to sites like Okayplayer and DJ Booth. He won’t let you forget it. “I don’t chief reefa, but I stay elevated/I’ve been the underdog, they said that I’d never make it,” he says on “#TheBalance,” the autobiographical single from his Respect EP. Lyriciss expects to drop two more EPs and a full-length album by year’s end. He’s also working on projects with his group, Zzz Gang, and frequent collaborator Pro’Verb. So much for finding a balance.
