Best Band Quietly Readying a New Release

Food for Animals
Hip-hop noiseniks Food for Animals have laid low since their debut, Belly, officially dropped two years back. A lot has changed since then. Most notably, rapper Vulture-V, aka Andrew Field-Pickering, has gotten a whole lot busier: Field-Pickering DJs as a part of Beautiful Swimmers, runs the dance label Future Times, and released a record under the sobriquet Maxmillion Dunbar. Somewhere in there, Field-Pickering grabbed fellow wordsmith Hy (Sterling Warren) and beatmaker Ricky Rabbit (Nick Rivetti) to put together a new Food for Animals album. In a post on the FFA blog in November, the group promised a new album in February. You’re probably noticing now that it’s late March, and no record is in sight. When it does appear, hopefully it’ll be as caustic and vibrant as Belly.
