Florida Avenue Market

Back in the mid-’90s, this hive of groceries and wholesalers between New York and Florida Avenues NE was a dump. Garbage piled up everywhere. It was gross. These days, there’s renewal in the form of fresh development, and yet some of the standbys and old-school charm remain.

  • What exactly is meant here by "fresh development"? Florida Ave Market is exactly how it's ever been, and THAT"S why it's great.

Maybe you're talking about the hideous Song Oh sign on Florida by the Burger King that reads "You won't recognize the place. We promise."?

But that's all future worries, barely made a dent in the place yet.

    A. Litteri's should have won "best sandwich" and K. Young's Deli "Best Korean in the District" but I won't hold it against y'all. Didn't you pick Potbelly's last year, or am I just imagining things?
