In Depth: Best Suburb for Vintage Chic

The genuine vintage boutique is rapidly being replaced by the “recycled” clothing store, where semi-used Gap and Free People T-shirts abound, but good luck finding a ’70s wrap dress or a cute ’60s cocktail frock. But in Takoma Park, real vintage from the mid-20th century onward lives; here are some recent finds from Polly Sue’s Vintage Shop (6915 Laurel Ave., 301-270-5511) and Moonshadow Antiques & Vintage (7000-C Carroll Ave., 301-270-8775).
