Maybe you’re the kind of guy who doesn’t think twice about dropping $400 on a pair of Bruno Maglis. Maybe you’re the fashion-forward guy who knows which thrift store to hit for retro Pumas. I can’t help either of those guys. But I can do something for the fellow who’s looking for a large selection of sensible shoes and who wants to get the task of buying them accomplished quickly and affordably. The drive to Loudoun County is a snooze, and parking is a bear on weekends, but every gainfully employed man in the D.C. area owes himself a trip out to Leesburg Corner, which boasts 21 dedicated shoe outlets, a handful of which are fine repositories for a durable pair of $60 casual kicks. The Clarks/Bostonian shop is the gem here—it’s well-organized and evokes some of the classy-department-store feel that’s otherwise missing in this antiseptic outlet mall—and Bass, Cole Haan, and Kenneth Cole have good selections as well.
