MirmanHodgemanSchaal Sandwich-To-Go Tour at Lisner Auditorium Wednesday, Oct. 16

Like any good sandwich, a good comedy bill is well balanced. It can’t be too dry, nor can it contain too much cheese. Let’s hope the “Sandwich-to-Go” tour, featuring comics Eugene Mirman, John Hodgman, and Kristen Schaal (shown), is as delectable as they seem to think it is. You know all three from their various off-kilter TV roles (Mirman on Bob’s Burgers, Schaal on Bob’s Burgers and 30 Rock, and Hodgman on The Daily Show—and of course, those Apple vs. PC commercials), so the audience can expect a whole lot of weirdness. Will Hodgman start dishing out judgment as he does on his podcast? Will Schaal freak out like the stalker she played on Flight of the Conchords? Will anyone eat, order, or make a sandwich during the show? It’s unclear. All we know is how Hodgman describes this particular metaphorical union of bread and filling: “not as famous as the French Dip.” The show begins at 8 p.m. at Lisner Auditorium, 730 21st St. NW. $30.
