Night of 1,000 Andys at Artisphere Saturday, Oct. 12

Artisphere is determined to squeeze every bit of family fun out its exhibition of Andy Warhol’s “Silver Clouds,” 150 of the artist’s delightful metalized plastic film balloons now on view. Nearly in time for Halloween, the cultural capital of Rosslyn is hosting “Night of 1,000 Andys”—a big ol’ costume dance party hosting (the hope is) 1,000 of you (or several hundred, anyway). To get you out on the dance floor, Artisphere has commissioned local personality Andrew Bucket to emcee and soul DJs Baby Alcatraz and Ian Svenonius to spin records. The highlight will be the MarchFourth Marching Band, a colorful clusterfuck of stilts and horns. Will they be dressed like Andy Warhol? Will you be dressed like Andy Warhol? Would Andy Warhol show up to this party? Probably not, but fuck it—this party’s got Spiv, the next best thing. The event begins at 8 p.m. at Artisphere, 1101 Wilson Blvd., Arlington. $15–$25.
