You can find almost anything on Craigslist, be it a cat, a kitchen appliance, or a new place to live. To get to the good stuff, though, you’ve got to dig—and the search can be scary. Flying V, a young, D.C.-based theater company, scavenged the site to find 37 posts to adapt into its newest work, The Best of Craigslist. The company approaches the posts in an unexpected way: Instead of emphasizing weird stuff, they look at each as an interaction between strangers who might never have met otherwise. This makes for a show that relies less on punchlines and more on introspection. But things won’t be totally heady: According to the prop list, a cast member will, at some point, wear a bedazzled loincloth.
The production runs June 14 to June 30 at the Writer’s Center, 4508 Walsh St., Bethesda. $10. (301) 654-8664. flyingv.brownpapertickets.com.
