DC Brau The Citizen Orr's last sip in D.C. is locally sourced

Where Spotted: Red Room at Black Cat, 1811 14th St. NW

Price: $6/pint

Brew-Hoo: Folks, I’m leaving D.C. for more northerly climes, and that means this is my last column for City Paper. I was finishing my goodbyes at the Red Room bar when I saw a crowd of friendly faces, and in every hand was a pint of the new hometown beer The Citizen, the spicier Belgian brother to DC Brau’s pale ale, The Public. When I started writing in this city, I was a cranky bastard, wailing weekly about the lack of a local beer culture. Three years later, we’ve got one, and it’s hard to ask for anything more—except refills.

Brew-Ha-Ha: In our time together, D.C. has gone from a flavor-of-the-week beer culture to opening its first two breweries in 50 years, with more stuff being made in the ‘burbs. Whereas once craft beer was concentrated in two or three places, today no respectable public house would dream of opening without a serious beer list. Local brewpubs are bucking their chain overlords with experimental styles, and now we even have growlers! A friend said it best: “Congress be damned, the bar is where D.C. is finally getting the representation we deserve.”

A fitting end: An uninformative, "I"-filled column that ends with a borrowed punchline.
So...
Who is going to pick up the mantle and carry this column forward? I, for one, enjoyed it and read it every week.
So, how's the beer? You neglected to tell us anything about it aside from it being "spiced".
So, I see there is a link to a new column "brew in town" that (it seems) may replace this one. But the link just goes to a blank page. What's up???
Is there a brew column in town?

Maybe City Paper can actually get someone who has a sense of taste. Long live sour beers!
