Entrants must specify what they were aiming to produce, either a specific style or a specific deviation, for the judges’ consideration. The top three entries will win prizes and the right to call themselves Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal winners of the DC State Fair’s Homebrew Competition. Then, on Tuesday, August 16th, will follow the Pint’s Homebrew Matchup IV. The top 25 entrants from the DC State Fair will be invited to participate. Proceeds from the sale of four of the beers we have chosen will go directly to the relief funds for the Gulf Coast, Hurricane Katrina, “Spreading Our Wings” campaign, and underprivileged children in the Caribbean and around the world. All oyster shells will also be recycled and returned to our oceans so that these habitats may be restored and maintained for their inhabitants.
