Ke$ha at Jiffy Lube Live Friday, August 20

If manufactured pop is the new punk rock, then 808s, Auto-Tune and Aquanet are the tools of the revolution, and Ke$ha—with some of the most hedonistic youth-in-revolt anthems since the Sex Pistols—is leading the charge. Ke$ha’s detractors point to the overly processed vocals on Animal as the latest in a long line of Madonnabes coming through the major label sausage grinder, but she’s had the good sense to surround herself with hyperintelligent hired hands who excel at making exceedingly stupid music: Katy Perry architect Dr. Luke, boy-band impresario Max Martin, and Boulder frat boys 3OH!3. Plus, Ke$ha’s batting well above the Martika line with outsized singles “TiK ToK,” “Blah Blah Blah,” and “Your Love Is My Drug.” Early reports on her stage show suggest season two of The Hills as directed by Julie Taymor: Look out for lasers, DayGlo body paints, and guitars shaped like assault rifles. OMG u guyz, don’t doubt Ke$ha’s commitment to Sparkle Motion!!!

KE$HA PERFORMS WITH RIHANNA AT 7:30 P.M. AT JIFFY LUBE LIVE, 7800 CELLAR DOOR DR., BRISTOW, VA. $31-$106. (703) 754-6400.

She sounds like a redneck from Chantilly trying to incorporate every cheese dick manipulated sound, verse and beat into a jumbled ball of shit! I would like to throw her out of a window.
Although Ke$ha may sound a bit quirky when she pronounces her words in her songs....anything is better than Lady Gag-Me....plezzzz someone put her on a boat to nowhere. Better yet on that island where Tom Hanks was stuck in Cast Away..
"Dont call my name.....Dont call my name Lady Gag-me!!!!
You got it backwards. She's not surrounding herself with anyone. She is a protege of Dr Luke. He even went out with her on her radio gig interviews, I imagine to keep her from screwing it up. She's an industry insider and her mother is a song writer in Nashville. She's no Sex Pistols, puleeze. Autotune has caused the death of music. Ad all radio cares about is trash especially if it's about women and sex.
